Rather than automatically returning unpaid any insufficient fund items you may have, we will consider, without obligation on our part, payment of your reasonable overdrafts. We will charge our normal insufficient funds fee, as set forth in our fee schedules, for each item that creates an overdraft on your account.

• Up to $700.00 on A+ and Prime Checking
• New accounts eligible after 30 days and; at least $400.00 (Forever Free) or $700.00 (A+ and Prime) in deposits.

Overdraft Protection

If you write a check for more than your available balance, a line of credit can be used to cover your overdraft(s). Use your Overdraft Protection with NO fee and there is NO charge if you do not use it.

• A credit limit is established which allows you to borrow up to that limit
• Make monthly payments on the line of credit or pay it back all at once
• Simple interest is charged on the amount in your Overdraft Protection Account
• Overdrafts covered by your Overdraft Protection Account do NOT incur an insufficient funds fee

Visa Check Card

The card that works like a check is available on any ECU Checking Account. Apply for your Visa Check Card to use for “point of sale” purchases and to access your funds from ATMs. Use your ECU VISA Check Card and remember to choose "CREDIT" not debit. No matter which option you choose, purchases are automatically deducted from your checking account and are NOT charged to a credit card.

• Your Check Card can be used anywhere Visa Debit Cards are accepted
• Use any of the 25 Credit Union ATMs in Topeka, Lawrence, Manhatan, or Emporia absolutely FREE –or-
• Any of the more than 30 Credit Union Network ATMs in Kansas City, and Oklahoma with NO Surcharge (a $1.00 transaction fee may apply to those outside of Topeka)
