Diane "Daisy" Wright Memorial Scholarship
Diane "Daisy" Wright was a loyal member of Educational Credit Union for 41 years and a dedicated volunteer board member for 25 years, 15 as Chair. Wright was a committed life-long student; she earned her BA and MA in Education from Washburn University and went on to earn her PhD in Gifted Education from Kansas State University at the age of 67. Her dedication to education, both in the classroom herself and through teaching others, has led to the establishment of the Diane "Daisy" Wright Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded annually by ECU to a post-secondary student studying for a career in the field of education.
Benefits:
$500 Scholarship
Possible $500 renewals every semester for a maximum of $4,000.
Eligibility:
High School senior planning on attending a 4-year university
- Parent, legal guardian, or applicant must be an Educational Credit Union member since September 1, 2010
- Pursuing a degree in education
- High school GPA of 3.0 or higher
Selection Criteria:
Scholarship will be awarded based on applicant’s eligibility and originality of answers. Scholarship recipient will be notified around March 1, 2011.

Applications must be received by Educational Credit Union by February 1, 2011. Drop off or mail your application to Educational Credit Union c/o Scholarship Committee 2808 SW Arrowhead Rd. Topeka, KS 66614
Criteria for Renewals:
Must have been recipient of initial and semester renewals of the Educational Credit Union Scholarship
- Parent, legal guardian, or applicant must be an Educational Credit Union member
- Must successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester (verified by registrar)
- Must have a college cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher for freshman year and 3.0 thereafter (verified by registrar)
- By junior year must be a declared education major (verified by school of education official)
- Must submit this information to Educational Credit Union at 2808 SW Arrowhead prior to start of each semester
- If renewal scholarship is awarded, a check to student will be given upon proof of enrollment with registrar’s verification
